Executive / Sr. Executive – Internal Audit
General Purpose of the Position
To perform internal audits across all departments of factory operations with a strong emphasis on Employee and Labor Relations (ER/LR). The role ensures that all functional areas including production, maintenance, stores, HR, admin, etc. are operating in compliance with internal policies, SOPs, legal requirements, and industry standards. This position plays a critical role in risk mitigation, process improvement, and ensuring regulatory and labor law compliance, particularly in labor-intensive environments.
Key Responsibilties
Conduct internal audits across all functional areas of the factory, including but not limited to:
- Production processes, Maintenance and engineering, Stores and inventory, Procurement (factory-level)
- ER/ LR/ HR and Admin, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Give special attention to Employee & Labor Relations (ER/LR) during audits focusing on:
- Compliance with labor laws (EOBI, Social Security, WPPF, SESSI, etc.)
- Contractor and third-party labor compliance
- Hiring and Overtime, shift patterns, and wage calculations
- Disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and documentation
- Worker welfare, canteen, medical, and housing facilities (if applicable)
- Identify risks, non-compliance’s, and gaps in internal controls.
- Develop detailed audit plans, checklists, and procedures based on regulatory frameworks and internal standards.
- Report audit findings clearly and accurately, with actionable recommendations.
- Follow up with departments on corrective actions and ensure timely implementation.
- Conduct surprise checks and compliance walkthroughs to ensure real-time controls.
- Assist in policy improvement by giving feedback based on audit observations.
- Stay updated with relevant labor laws, industrial regulations, and internal control trends.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of Pakistan’s labor laws, labor regulations, and employee rights.
- Knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment, and compliance frameworks.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Excellent report writing and documentation abilities.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills must be able to work with all levels of staff.
- High ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- (FMCG background preferred). Proficiency in MS Excel, Power Point ERP systems (like SAP, Oracle)
